FIRST INSURANCE Sweden AB (hereinafter referred to as FIRST) has taken measures to ensure that your personal data is always protected, and that processing takes place in accordance with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). Personal data is all information that can be used to identify you.

FIRST is data controller for the processing of your personal data. 

In this information sheet we describe to you how and why FIRST processes your personal data.

Customer relationship and insurance consultation

We process your personal data to manage our customer relationship with you and to fulfill the customer agreement you have entered with FIRST. The information is used, for example, to identify you as a customer, to prepare and handle the signing of agreements and to take measures that you as a customer have requested before entering into an agreement, to provide consultation regarding insurance, to assist in entering into insurance agreements and to give you access to the web-based customer portal. 

Processing of personal data also takes place when FIRST contacts you and informs you about the change of rules or conditions, insurance terms, products or services etc. that are related to the customer agreement. Processing of personal data also takes place when you as a customer electronically receive information from FIRST, for example, by text message, e-mail or by logging in to the customer portal in order to be able to access information or to electronically sign documents.

Personal data about you as a customer may be processed after considering the balance of interests between FIRST’s legitimate interest in processing of data and your interest in personal privacy. Such processing, for example, can be related to the handling of commission, remuneration and compensation, where such have been agreed between you and FIRST. Such processing is necessary for meeting FIRST’s need to ensure that correct remuneration or commission is paid.

Your personal data is also processed and stored to fulfill legal obligations of FIRST, such as obtaining and ensuring sufficient information about customers, conducting checks against sanction lists, maintaining documentation, or disclosing data to authorities upon request.

Contact with FIRST

We will process your personal data when you contact us or when we contact you via e-mail, mail, contact form on our website or other channels.

Cooperation partners of FIRST

FIRST may process personal data of employees of the cooperation partner for communicating with the cooperation partner, managing contractual relationship and the services agreed between the companies. This may, for example, include invoice management or participation in conferences and other activities.

We collect information about you from various sources.

We collect information about you as a customer provided by you in connection with you becoming a customer or in connection to your consultation regarding insurance. Information is also collected when you sign up for a product or service via us, and when you contact us or use any of our digital channels (for example, e-mail, customer portal or electronic signature).

In order to take good care of customer database and customer data, FIRST may supplement your personal data by obtaining information from private and public registers.

For fulfilling its legal obligations, FIRST may make a control of personal data against sanction lists.

We also collect information from third parties, such as insurance companies, to the extent that is required to be able to provide you consultation. Such information is obtained only to the extent necessary for the fulfillment of assignments related to contractual agreement with customer. Information is obtained from the insurance company you have chosen and in accordance with the power of attorney you have given to FIRST.

FIRST shares data with cooperation partner, for example, an insurance company, when you sign up for a product or a service via us. In these cases both FIRST and our cooperation partner are controllers of personal data and you will, in addition to the information you get from us, also receive information from the party you have chosen to sign insurance agreement with.

Data may also be shared with certain service providers to FIRST, for example, system providers and cloud service providers. In these cases, service provider acts in accordance with instructions provided by us and may not use the data for its own purposes.

We may also share personal data with authorities, including law enforcement authorities, in cases we are obliged to do so. Such processing is necessary for fulfilling legal obligations.

Personal data may also be shared with courts, counterparties and other parties involved in litigation. Such processing is carried out in connection to FIRST’s legitimate interest in establishing, asserting and defending legal claims.

FIRST may also share data with potential buyers and sellers in case of an acquisition of the business or a merger. Such processing of data is necessary to meet our legitimate interest in executing the divestment or merger process.

The data processing by FIRST takes place within the EU/EEA. In cases where FIRST or a service provider to FIRST should transfer your personal data to a country outside the EU/EEA, FIRST is responsible for ensuring that protective measures are in place.

Your personal data will be stored as long as you are customer of FIRST and also after your agreement is terminated, to the extent required by law. This may, for example, include storing of customer documentation and agreements that show what FIRST and you have agreed on.

In other cases, personal data will only be processed as long as it is necessary.

Access to your personal data

You have the right to request access to your personal data processed by us and to receive a register extract of your personal data.

Request correction

You have the right to request rectification of any inaccurate personal data.

Withdraw consent

You have the right to withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data at any time.

Object to processing for direct marketing, including profiling

You have the right to object to your personal data being used for direct marketing purposes and to unsubscribe from any customer mailing lists.

Request limitation of processing

In certain cases, you have the right to request that FIRST limits the processing of your personal data. In such circumstances FIRST may not be able to fulfill the obligations according to the agreement with you.

Data portability

In certain circumstances and if it is technically possible, you have the right to obtain your personal data in a structured, generally used and machine-readable format and to transfer it to another data controller.

Deletion

In certain circumstances you have the right to get your personal data deleted. However, this does not apply if FIRST is obliged to store personal data according to law.

The Data Inspectorate is the supervisory authority for the processing of your personal data. If you believe that information about you has been processed in violation of the Data Protection Regulation, you may file a complaint to the Data Inspectorate.
